This role will be based near Glendevon in Scotland.

The position

The Turbine O&M Technician will support the O&M team in delivering projects, providing technical assistance to resolve issues and implement improvements. We seek candidates with a mechanical and/or electrical background, preferably in turbines, with strong fault-finding skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Experience with Acciona wind turbines is highly valued.

Accountabilities

This role suits an experienced Wind Turbine Technician eager to develop further in maintenance and contribute to business growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Effective communication and customer interface skills
  • Preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and safety procedures
  • Travel within the UK & Ireland as needed
  • Training in gearbox inspections, vibration analysis, ultrasound, bore scope, thermal imaging, and blade repair (training provided)
  • Resolving onsite technical issues and implementing improvements
  • Main component replacements and tooling requirements
  • Technical auditing and reporting
  • Delivering technical training

Knowledge

  • Wind O&M, particularly Acciona technology
  • Team leadership and subcontractor coordination
  • Health & Safety awareness (Risk Assessments, CoSSH, MS)

Skills

  • Fault diagnosis in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Hydraulic tooling proficiency
  • Blade repair skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Experience

  • Wind turbine maintenance
  • Large component exchange
  • Heavy lifting management
  • Working at heights

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Qualification (minimum Level 3 NVQ)
