We are looking for an individual with an excellent track record and practical experience of delivering and project managing EIA projects to join our team. Our current projects include sustainable energy projects (solar, wind energy and hydro-electric schemes) as well as novel fuel production and energy storage projects, major motorway junction improvements and other highways schemes, nationally significant rail projects, master planning at MoD sites, infrastructure and pipeline projects for water companies, including a large reservoir proposal, and coastal defence projects for the Environment Agency.
This is an excellent development opportunity for an experienced candidate looking to progress their career to the next level in a fast paced and exciting industry. You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impacts Assessments and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor others in the team.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an environmental discipline, is likely to be chartered, and have a comprehensive understanding of all the technical expertise required for the preparation and management of EIAs and the environmental assessment of large infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Leading on the coordination and delivery of environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams including EIA, options appraisals and environmental assessments;
- Project managing teams of environmental professionals;
- Responsibility for programme and commercial management aspects of projects including budget control;
- Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomes;
- Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, on time and to budget;
- Able to manage clients’ needs in a confident, professional manner;
- Lead on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team;
- Undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute;
- Mentoring and assisting with staff development.
Requirements
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject;
- Experience working on the delivery of EIAs for major infrastructure projects;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the UK EIA process and associated legislation;
- Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills and able to review the work of others to ensure quality;
- Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure;
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively;
- Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges, including working from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations;
- Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.

Rewards and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
