The role
As an Environmental and Sustainability Practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will directly shaping the sustainability agenda for construction projects across the Naval Base.
Day-to-day, you’ll be reporting in to the Senior Environmental Protection Manager where you will develop and enhance environmental performance across refurbishment and infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with infrastructure project delivery teams to integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into construction and refurbishment projects across the Naval Base.
- Identify and help reduce environmental risks associated with construction activities.
- Manage and ensure compliance with environmental permits and licences related to project facilities.
- Assist in developing new governance frameworks to establish sustainability and environmental protection standards across Devonport.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at our Devonport site.
Essential experience of the Environmental and Sustainability Practitioner:
- Proven experience working in an environmental or sustainability role within a construction or infrastructure project environment.
- Experience in identifying and managing environmental risks, including familiarity with environmental permitting and licensing processes.
- Experience contributing to the development or implementation of environmental governance frameworks or standards.
Qualifications for the Environmental and Sustainability Practitioner:
- A level 3 qualification in environmental/sustainability management (or associated subject)
- Practitioner Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment
- DREAM/BREEAM Assessor qualified.
