Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 32 countries and territories in North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. The Partnership’s midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline and over 160 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership’s fuel distribution operations, which distribute over 15 billion gallons annually to approximately 11,000 Sunoco and partner-branded retail locations, as well as independent dealers and commercial customers. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining, modifying and performing routine and emergency repairs on all electrical/electronic and associated mechanical equipment in the assigned area. This is a 365‑day operating facility. Must be flexible and able to work on‑call for various shifts that may include nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Takes immediate measures in emergency situations to protect the safety of the public and the company’s assets.
  • Makes accurate decisions and maintains thorough attentiveness to the activities required.
  • Supervises digging by third parties around our high‑pressure pipelines.
  • Performs physical labor related to maintenance of large pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Follows established procedures for lock‑out/tag‑out to assure safety.
  • Maintains, repairs, and operates equipment for pump stations, pipeline control centers, product terminals and related facilities.
  • Maintains and marks pipeline right‑of‑way for surveillance access and location.
  • Ensures the pipeline route and right‑of‑way is adequately marked to warn others that may encroach on the pipeline.
  • Monitors, inspects, and evaluates trouble areas along ROW that are reported by ground or aerial surveillance.
  • Maintains, operates, and evaluates cathodic protection systems while observing proper environmental and safety procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and instrumentation.
  • Utilize lifting systems for light or heavy machinery placement (incorporating pulleys, cables, hydraulic lifts or cranes).
  • Assemble new equipment ensuring that gears, wheels, bearings, belts, and motors are aligned, fitted and attached properly.
  • Support emergency plant needs on day shift and provide 24‑hour on‑call assistance during off hours.
  • Diligently follow all safety requirements.
  • Maintain location appearance and repair or replace equipment to maintain exemplary compliance standards.
  • Coordinate projects with contractors and work safely, following company safety policies and programs.
  • Perform general maintenance responsibilities as directed.
  • Assists in the construction and modification of facilities.
  • Informs and enforces company rules and regulations on outside pipeline companies and contractors.
  • Works weekends and responds to 24‑hour on call.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, reducing potential risk to public safety and the environment while minimizing company liability.
  • Improves operations efficiency and financial profitability through well‑maintained facilities.
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate of a technical school preferred.
Qualifications
  • One year of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of Bristol, Allen Bradley, and Systronics systems preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy.
  • Ability to be alert and drive excessive miles daily.
  • Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Ability to work successfully in stressful situations and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to use awareness of relationships and impacts of data trends to recommend actions that impact operations and profits.
  • Ability to independently conduct job accountabilities.
  • Ability to take directions from supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to supervise digging by third parties around high‑pressure pipelines.
  • Ability to plan activities on the pipeline with a weekly to monthly time horizon.
Physical Demands
  • Climbing at least 60 feet on stairs several times per week.
  • Climbing 7 to 11 feet on ladders or scaffolding several times per month.
  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs several times per week; may lift up to 100 lbs with assistance when needed.
  • Carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs for up to 50 feet on a weekly basis.
  • Walking 100 yards or more over 10 times throughout the day; may walk regularly up to 300 yards at a time for a total of 2 miles or more during a shift.
  • Walking on steep inclines for up to 15 minutes at a time.
  • Working in a crouching position several times per day for up to an hour at a time.
  • Bending and stooping several times per day for up to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Bending and twisting for up to 30 minutes at a time, including manually digging with shovels.
  • Standing in one place for up to an hour at a time.
  • Sitting for up to two hours at a time.
  • Ability to wear all appropriate personal protection equipment, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, flame‑resistant clothing, hearing protection, respirator, fall protection, as required by the job activities.
  • Ability to use or operate hand tools, power tools, precision tools, measurement devices and other required equipment.
