At Energy Systems Catapult we're looking for a Social Media and Content Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team.
About The Job
Want to help shape the story of how the UK builds a cleaner, fairer energy system? And, support the innovative new businesses to launch their products and services to achieve that? We're looking for a curious, organised and creative Social Media and Content Producer to join our Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team at Energy Systems Catapult.
This isn't a "schedule a few posts and go home" role. You'll take complex ideas from the worlds of science, data and R&D and turn them into content people want to stop and watch, read and share. One day you'll be writing a sharp LinkedIn post about a breakthrough clean-tech business, the next you'll be cutting a short video, turning a heavy dataset into a digestible animation, or helping produce our brand-new podcast.
Life in our team
You'll join a friendly, nine person MarComms team who look out for each other, share the load and pull together to hit our deadlines. As a team, we’re super-supportive of each other, and we firmly believe great work comes from a joyful environment. (We’re the noisy always laughing team.)
You'll get support when you need it and plenty of chances to bring your own ideas to the table.
Key Work Activities
- Running our social media channels (predominantly LinkedIn) day to day - planning, writing, scheduling (we use Buffer) and keeping an eye on what's working
- Staying on top of social media channel updates, key trends, and algorithm changes to ensure we’re delivering the most impressions and engagement opportunities as possible
- Writing high-quality content that makes complex energy, science and data topics clear and engaging
- Creating graphics and simple designs in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Filming and editing video for social and producing short-form content
- Overseeing our employee generated content and coaching colleagues to film great video of their own
- Leading production of the Built to Scale podcast and its companion video
- Editing and publishing pages on our WordPress website
- Pulling together our social and content stats for the quarterly department impact report
What credentials are we ideally looking for?
- Excellent written communication and content creation skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Naturally curious, with a desire to understand and explain complex topics
- Passionate about B2B social media and digital content
- Comfortable using analytics and reporting tools to identify insights and trends
- Experience with GA4, Power BI or similar analytics platforms (desirable)
- Experience creating video content and basic video editing skills (desirable)
- Interest in the energy sector; industry experience is a bonus
- Experience using WordPress or other CMS platforms (desirable)
- Proactive, resourceful and able to find solutions independently
- Quick to learn new skills, tools and processes
- Positive, flexible, "can-do" attitude with a willingness to test new ideas
Benefits
- A flexible working culture
- 28 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Buy / sell holidays
- Occupational sick pay
- Enhanced pension contribution
- Cycle2work scheme
- Life assurance
- Generous parental leave pay
- Cashback healthcare scheme
- Employee assistance programme
- Electric vehicle scheme
- Volunteering day
