The role:

As an Enterprise Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of our technology landscape to ensure it is secure, scalable and aligned to our strategic objectives. You will work across business and technology teams to define architecture standards, roadmaps and governance, translating business needs into cohesive solutions that support the organisation's transition to net zero. You will influence senior stakeholders, support project delivery through architectural review and assurance, and champion best practice for cloud, data, integration and security.

The team:

It’s an exciting time to join the newly formed Marketing, Digital and Technology Centre of Excellence at Energy Saving Trust. We are on an ambitious growth journey to accelerate the use of our services through customer centric digital transformation. This includes a move to a product orientated approach, an increasingly Agile delivery model and harnessing data to enhance our digital products and services. Our approach is open and collaborative, where we want everyone to be able to bring their unique perspectives to help tackle the climate emergency.

What you will do:

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture.
  • Develop and maintain target architectures, principles and roadmaps that align IT capability with business strategy. Ensure architectures are pragmatic, future-proof and support sustainable technology choices.
  • Provide architectural leadership and governance. Lead architectural reviews, provide design authority for major initiatives, and ensure compliance with standards and security requirements. Facilitate decision making and trade-off analysis across programmes and projects.
  • Drive cloud, data and integration strategies. Shape cloud adoption patterns, integration approaches (APIs, messaging), and data architecture to enable interoperable, resilient services and effective use of data across the organisation.
  • Partner with stakeholders. Work closely with business owners, product managers and delivery teams to translate needs into viable, cost-effective technical solutions. Communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support secure and sustainable delivery. Embed security, privacy and sustainability considerations into architectural decisions. Recommend technology selections that reduce carbon impact and support long-term maintainability.
  • Improve standards and ways of working. Promote architecture patterns, reusable components and automation to increase delivery speed and quality. Contribute to continuous improvement of tooling, documentation and practices.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience as an enterprise or solution architect, working on complex, multi-system environments and delivering strategy, roadmaps and governance.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), integration patterns (APIs, ESB, messaging), data architecture and modern application design (microservices, serverless).
  • Good understanding of security, identity and access management, and data protection principles with experience embedding them into architectures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leaders and working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Practical experience of architecture governance, modelling techniques and tools (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, or equivalent approaches) and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with agile delivery approaches and working in cloud-native environments. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.

Please submit an anonymised CV and cover letter, removing your name, address, email address, and any other identifying details. Please note, applications submitted without a cover letter may be rejected.
