We’re looking for a New Business Enablement Specialist to provide hands-on capacity and capability across business development, bidding, and opportunity development. This is a pivotal role focused on improving how we win work; by designing practical tools, templates, and processes, and by directly supporting live bids and strategic opportunities during periods of high demand.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening proposal quality, streamlining bid processes, and ensuring teams have the guidance and resources they need to succeed.
The team you’ll join is our Business and Market Development Centre of Excellence, a collaborative, fast-paced team that supports high-quality proposal delivery, competitive positioning, and strategic proposition development across the organisation. We work closely with internal stakeholders to win and deliver impactful programmes that accelerate the transition to net zero.
What you will do:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve business development tools, templates, and guidance across the bid lifecycle.
- Maintain and enhance a central repository of proposal and opportunity resources, ensuring accessibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Provide hands-on support to account managers and bid teams, contributing directly to competitive positioning, propositions, and proposals.
- Translate bid requirements and market intelligence into actionable checklists, stage gates, and guidance documents.
- Backfill and deliver core activities in competitive positioning, opportunity development, and consortium formation.
- Capture and analyse market intelligence and bid feedback to inform ongoing process and content improvement.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and adoption of new tools and processes across the Centre.
- Monitor and report on progress, impact, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
- Proven experience in business development, proposal management, or bidding.
- Strong track record of developing and implementing tools, templates, and guidance.
- Experience preparing and delivering competitive proposals and pitch presentations.
- Understanding of commercial development and consortium working in a tendering environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing clear, practical guidance.
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Analytical skills to interpret market intelligence and feedback.
