Purpose of the Role: Technical Lead of the structural Design Engineering on Multi–Disciplined Engineering Projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Structural Engineering Design of structural steel elements of large Tanks and associated process structures related to the storage of LNG & cryogenic liquids.
- Work within the Structural Engineering Team to undertake the design of large domed roof structures, aluminium decks, large roof-top plant and pipe support structures and access structures.
- Carry out the design of ancillary buildings, overhead cranes, plant & equipment support structures, pipe racks, pipe bridges and Jetty Topside structures associated with import terminals.
- Undertaking third party reviews of other contractors’ designs and details as a part of a Project Management Consultants Team.
- Responsibility for providing safe and economical design solutions.
- Supervising and leading the structural engineering and design team in producing designs, drawings and other deliverables.
- Function as a Lead Engineer when required by project circumstances.
- Liaise with all other disciplines and external bodies as part of an overall multi-disciplined engineering department.
- Prepare feasibility, FEED and technical studies.
- Produce Cost/Time/Resource (CTR) and material estimates.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and developments.
Experience:
- Experience of leading Civil/Structural designers in multi-discipline design teams for safety related facilities.
- Experienced in overseas projects and international design codes.
- Proficient in all aspects of structural steelwork design.
- Proficient in the use of STAAD and Ansys software.
- Experience of the seismic analysis of structures.
