Are you energetic, structured, and have experience or a strong interest in customs operations? This could be the next step in your career. We offer an exciting position in a busy department at our office in Manchester. We are looking for a candidate with experience in either export or import customs procedures β preferably both β who, with the right motivation and interest, is eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire customs field over time. Of course, you will receive thorough training and support to succeed in your new role.
The Position
This position is full-time and will involve dealing with our customers and partners handling traffic worldwide by road, sea and air.
The Job Includes
- Customs clearance of goods in the GB Customs online system.
- Preparation of export declarations.
- Management of procedures related to customs warehousing and other temporary storage procedures.
- Preparation of various customs documents.
- Proactively addressing and resolving challenges arising throughout the working day.
- Occasional on-call weekend work.
What We Expect From You
Important that you have good communication skills in English. Furthermore, we expect that you:
- Have some experience with customs clearance β preferably with Road experience.
- Experience with transport business is an advantage.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, customs systems, and tariff classification of goods.
- Strong IT knowledge.
- Can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
- Always work with the client in focus.
- Are motivated by a hectic workday and sometimes large workloads and deadlines.
