Are you energetic, structured, and have experience or a strong interest in customs operations? This could be the next step in your career. We offer an exciting position in a busy department at our office in Manchester. We are looking for a candidate with experience in either export or import customs procedures – preferably both – who, with the right motivation and interest, is eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire customs field over time. Of course, you will receive thorough training and support to succeed in your new role.

The position is full-time and will involve dealing with our customers and partners handling traffic worldwide by road, sea and air. The job includes:

  • Customs clearance of goods in the GB Customs online system.
  • Preparation of export declarations.
  • Management of procedures related to customs warehousing and other temporary storage procedures.
  • Preparation of various customs documents.
  • Proactively addressing and resolving challenges arising throughout the working day.
  • Occasional on-call weekend work.

What we expect from you:

  • Important that you have good communication skills in English.
  • Have some experience with customs clearance – preferably with Road experience.
  • Experience with transport business is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures, customs systems, and tariff classification of goods.
  • Strong IT knowledge.
  • Can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
  • Always work with the client in focus.
  • Are motivated by a hectic workday and sometimes large workloads and deadlines.
