Our European Finance team is growing, and we are looking for a Management Accountant who is passionate about automation, continuous improvement and enhancing the value finance delivers to the business.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, curious and solutions‑driven Part Qualified Management Accountant to play a key role in transforming and modernising our finance operations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting — you will help shape how we automate, streamline and simplify financial processes while producing high‑quality reporting and insights for senior leadership. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy ownership, problem‑solving and using technology such as Power BI, Power Pivot, automation tools to make finance faster, smarter and more effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Accounting
- Support the preparation of accurate management accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, highlighting key variances and trends.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring financial plans align with company objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of year‑end accounts and liaise with auditors for statutory reporting.
- Provide ongoing analysis of financial performance, offering actionable insights to senior management.
- Lead the financial analysis for the R&D claims by pulling together and summarising the financial information needed for the submission.
- Process Improvement, Automation & Insight
- Identify, design and implement automation and process improvement initiatives across reporting, month‑end, and forecasting cycles.
- Build and enhance dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Power Query and Power Pivot.
- Drive simplification initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve data integrity across finance systems.
- Collaborate with operational teams to improve the flow, structure and accuracy of financial and operational data.
- Champion modern finance tools and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the European Finance team.
- Wider Work
- Conduct financial analysis to support commercial decisions, including cost analysis, profitability reviews, and investment modelling.
- Deliver financial modelling for new business opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Support the development and tracking of KPIs, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Produce clear, insightful reports for senior management, transforming data into actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on ad‑hoc financial projects, identifying areas for improvement and cost‑saving initiatives.
Requirements
- Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with strong management accounting experience.
- A proactive self‑starter who enjoys improving processes, solving problems and challenging the status quo.
- Experience in automation, digital finance tools or building data models in Power BI, Power Query or advanced Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- A positive, “can‑do” attitude with a passion for continuous improvement.
