As part of our continued growth in Europe, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our team in Solihul (UK). This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate eager to start a career in business development within the energy and SaaS sectors.
As a Development Representative, you will support our sales and marketing teams in identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, and strengthening client relationships. You will contribute directly to the commercial expansion of our ETRM SaaS solutions across Europe and the UK, through outbound prospecting, market intelligence, and participation in key industry events. This role is ideal for someone with a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in energy markets, emerging technologies, and consultative sales.

Who we\’re looking for • A recent graduate with a Master’s degree, or 1 to 3 years of experience in business development within Energy, FinTech, financial markets, or software sales • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients and senior stakeholders • Proactive and self-motivated, with a keen interest in energy markets and commercial strategy • Analytical thinker with the ability to research market trends and identify business opportunities • Passionate about emerging technologies including AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making • Curious about disruptive technologies, high-frequency trading, and digital platforms in energy and financial markets • Enthusiastic about the energy transition and sustainability-focused innovation • Fluency in English is essential • Professional proficiency in French, German, and/or Dutch is a strong advantage • Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events

Job Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Outreach • Identify new potential clients and generate qualified leads • Leverage AI-powered tools and CRM automation to target high-potential leads • Execute personalised outreach via email, social selling, and strategic cold calling • Conduct timely follow-up on inbound leads • Schedule qualified meetings for sales teams • Support outbound prospecting as part of targeted go-to-market campaigns
Market Intelligence & Relationship Building • Use AI-driven analytics to monitor market trends, regulations, and competitor activity • Maintain accurate CRM data across client and prospect portfolios • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with prospects through value-driven engagement • Share insights with internal stakeholders to support product positioning and sales strategy
Trade Shows & Events • Support preparation for conferences, webinars, and industry trade shows • Represent Energy One at events to generate leads and promote our solutions • Ensure structured post-event follow-up and relationship development
