We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England, they are ambitious and have a huge 5 year plan which we are seeking a GMO to assist with, their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones creating vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role:
- Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges AND soft landscaping/minor tree work.
- Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out.
- To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works.
- Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
- Ensuring that all vehicles are kept clean with regular checks to oil and coolant levels reporting any defects to the fleet manager.
- Assisting all other trades as and when required ensuring that customers receive a high-quality service.
The Candidate needs:
- Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with experience of Grounds Maintenance.
- Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations.
- An understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly when needed.
- To behave in a courteous and professional manner.
- To be able to prioritise conflicting demands.
- Great communication skills.
- Current holder of Proficiency Test certificate for the safe control & use of pesticide or Pa1, Pa6a – Desirable, but not essential.
- NPTC certification or equivalent (Desirable, but not essential).
- A clean Driving Licence (with towing ability - Desirable).
This is a Temp to Perm, full time role, working a 40 hour week over 5 days. The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
