We are currently working with a growing and forward-thinking client to recruit a skilled Maintenance Engineer for their Wickford site. This is a full-time, days-based role (Monday to Friday), offering a great work-life balance alongside strong long-term prospects. The business is expanding and has recently acquired a new facility, making this an exciting time to join and be part of their continued growth and investment.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime, and supporting operational output through a mix of planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across all production equipment
- Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs to minimise downtime
- Maintain and improve electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement effective solutions
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Work closely with production teams to prioritise and resolve issues
- Strong background in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (fault finding and repair essential)
- Hands-on experience in both reactive and preventive maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in HVAC, fabrication, or similar industries is advantageous
- Days-based role (Monday to Friday)
