Contract Manufacturing Engineer

Secure yet growing design, development and manufacturer of specialist engineered products and are currently seeking a talented Contract Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for lean to join their team focused manufacturing operation.
The role of Manufacturing Engineer will suit a Manufacturing / Production Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background as you will be driving process development of existing products and supporting new product development / NPI through effective application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
Key accountabilities for Contract Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer will include:
- NPI support - undertake DFA/DFM on new products as required.
- Utilisation of lean manufacturing tools and techniques for Problem Solving
- Supporting Value Engineering exercises on your key product lines / cells to assist in achieving the maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness of the process
- Play a key role in plant and process layout for new and existing products
- Responsible for the maintenance and development of fixtures and tooling for new and existing products and processes
- Assisting with cellular layout for key products
- Producing clear work instructions for new and existing products
- Justification and specification of manufacturing equipment and make recommendations for capital expenditure.
- Supporting Management in fostering a culture of lean manufacturing culture by using lean tools, Value Stream Mapping etc.
- Proactively lead and contribute to cost reduction continuous improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HNC/D qualified (or commensurate experience) Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background. Assembly experience and lean manufacturing expertise required.
In return you will be rewarded an interesting long term contract.
