In this role you will deliver and assess practical Welding programmes, supported by high‑quality theoretical teaching, across Levels 1‑3 and apprenticeship provision. You will also take on course leadership responsibilities and contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the curriculum within the department.

About the role

  • Deliver and assess practical and theoretical Welding sessions across Levels 1‑3 for full‑time students and apprentices.
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning activities tailored to individual learner needs, maintaining accurate attendance records and high standards of behaviour.
  • Set, mark, and accurately record coursework and assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support students' academic progress and wellbeing, providing guidance and contributing to reports, reviews, and referrals to specialist services where appropriate.
  • Maintain high expectations of learner performance, commitment, and conduct, taking appropriate action to uphold standards.
  • Contribute to programme teams, committees, and curriculum development, supporting the continuous improvement of course quality.
  • Actively promote programmes through open evenings, careers events, school visits, and other marketing activities.
  • Continuously develop and update your professional knowledge and expertise within the Welding discipline.

Essential Experience

  • Industrial experience within the welding sector.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 3 or above professional Welding/Fabrication qualification.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above.
