The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of product design from concept through to production. You’ll translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions and ensure products perform reliably in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical design solutions for customer-focused projects
- Develop robust designs from concept through to production
- Produce and maintain 2D/3D CAD drawings (Inventor or similar)
- Apply best practice engineering standards across the product lifecycle
- Validate designs through analysis, prototyping, and testing
- Design for manufacture, assembly, and cost efficiency
- Drive modularisation and standardisation initiatives
- Manage and maintain accurate product data within ERP systems
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
- Collaborate with operations to ensure right-first-time manufacturing
- Interpret and challenge customer specifications where appropriate
About You
Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline
Proven experience in mechanical design from concept to production
Strong 3D CAD skills and technical drawing capability
Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
Experience with design for manufacture and material selection
Analytical, hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset
