The ideal candidate will have active SC Clearance or be eligible to undergo SC Clearance. The Experis Academy has an exciting and unique opportunity for delivery-focused individuals to be trained and upskilled to become Trainee Project Planners within a leading aviation and air traffic management organisation. As part of our growing Academy division, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting a key aviation client. Our Academy programmes develop wider talent pools, with the potential to progress into permanent roles with our industry‑leading customers.

We are looking for ambitious candidates who possess strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. This is a challenging but rewarding role that will require outstanding customer facing and team working skills. You will be given the opportunity to work within a delivery environment, supporting on project planning activities for a variety of different projects/programmes. It will also enable you to collaborate with likeminded individuals to help solve complex problems within the airport services domain.

As part of the programme, you will be provided with the necessary tools, experience, and training to help develop your skills within project, programme and portfolio management (P3M). You will receive best in class training within project management, planning and controls, and risk. Courses will also cover soft skills such as negotiation, presentation, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The training is centred around scenario‑based learning, where you will be involved in practical application workshops.

Day to Day Responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate and timely development of the project schedule and associated costs that capture all the work required to achieve the project’s objectives.
  • The collection, correlation, and evaluation of project progress data from Work Package Managers to ensure that project progress can be measured against the project schedule baseline.
  • The analysis of project performance and Critical Path, reporting status and potential problems to the project manager.
  • Attend reviews and meetings to support the Project Managers, providing data and reports to give visibility of project status and performance.
  • The accurate and timely progress reporting to the Project Manager in line with the latest published reporting calendar throughout the project lifecycle.
  • The planning, creation, and maintenance of the Project schedules in conjunction with the Schedule and Maintenance process.
  • Reporting for project finance, working closely with project/management accountant to analyse project spend and budget whilst tracking spends against Approved WP Documents.
  • The design and creation of a Work Breakdown Structure that meets the technical requirements of the project.

  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Drive to progress and develop additional skill set within project environment.
  • Experience working in a delivery-focused environment, with the ability to plan and organise activities, manage competing priorities, and work towards deadlines.
