Job Role of the Maintenance Engineer

This is a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing site in Tamworth, operating within a high‑volume production environment. The business continues to invest in its machinery and processes, making this a stable and forward‑thinking site.

The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment, carrying out a mix of planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work. You will be working across a range of machinery, supporting production by minimising downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.

The position will involve a balance of PPM and reactive maintenance (approx. 40% / 60%), alongside occasional involvement in equipment refurbishment, machinery moves and reinstallations across the site.

Sector – Factory Maintenance

This business operates within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, producing high‑volume products.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

  • Engineering Qualification (minimum UK Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Must have experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Commutable to Tamworth

Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

  • Experience working on production machinery within a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working within a continuous improvement environment

Desirable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical

  • Strong pneumatics (majority of the work)
  • Hydraulics, gearboxes, pumps, belts, bearings, chains
  • Welding, fabrication or machining experience (advantageous)

Electrical

  • 3‑phase systems
  • AC/DC motors
  • Inverters / drives
  • Sensors and relays
