Job Role of the Maintenance Engineer
This is a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing site in Tamworth, operating within a high‑volume production environment. The business continues to invest in its machinery and processes, making this a stable and forward‑thinking site.
The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment, carrying out a mix of planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work. You will be working across a range of machinery, supporting production by minimising downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
The position will involve a balance of PPM and reactive maintenance (approx. 40% / 60%), alongside occasional involvement in equipment refurbishment, machinery moves and reinstallations across the site.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer
- Engineering Qualification (minimum UK Level 2 or equivalent)
- Must have experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Commutable to Tamworth
Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer
- Experience working on production machinery within a fast‑paced environment
- Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working within a continuous improvement environment
Desirable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer
Mechanical
- Strong pneumatics (majority of the work)
- Hydraulics, gearboxes, pumps, belts, bearings, chains
- Welding, fabrication or machining experience (advantageous)
Electrical
- 3‑phase systems
- AC/DC motors
- Inverters / drives
- Sensors and relays
