Our client is a high-growth UK food business operating in the premium foodservice sector, specialising in authentic Latin American-inspired staple ingredients supplied into professional kitchens across the UK. The business has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, provenance-led products that sit at the intersection of traditional culinary heritage and modern UK food manufacturing. Its range is designed specifically for chefs and food operators who value authenticity, consistency, and depth of flavour.

Prior to launch, the founders spent extensive time working directly with growers and producers across multiple regions, building long‑term supplier relationships and understanding traditional production methods at source. These relationships now underpin a tightly managed international supply network that prioritises quality, consistency, and responsible sourcing.

The Role

This is a pivotal supply chain hire, responsible for owning purchasing, international supplier coordination, and inventory management across a complex UK and overseas supply base. The role sits at the centre of the operational function and acts as the critical link between overseas production partners, UK logistics, manufacturing, and day‑to‑day fulfilment. You will ensure materials and finished goods move smoothly through the supply chain, balancing availability, cost efficiency, and production requirements. Working closely with the founders and operations leadership, you will play a key role in building structure, improving visibility, and strengthening control across a scaling but still evolving supply chain. This is a highly hands‑on role where strong ownership and pragmatic problem‑solving are essential.

Key Duties

  • Take full ownership of purchasing across UK and international suppliers
  • Manage long‑lead overseas supply chains, including forecasting, ordering, and lead‑time management
  • Maintain direct relationships with international suppliers, including Spanish‑communication
  • Coordinate international freight, customs clearance, and inbound logistics into the UK
  • Oversee stock integrity, inventory accuracy, and warehouse flow
  • Support production planning through accurate supply and demand inputs
  • Manage and optimise ERP and inventory systems (Cin7 Core or equivalent)
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools covering purchasing, stock levels, and supply chain performance
  • Identify and deliver cost optimisation and efficiency initiatives across procurement and packaging
  • Work closely with operations, production, and finance to align supply with demand
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and operational workflows

What the client would like to see (essential)

  • Fluent Spanish (written and verbal), with experience working directly with overseas suppliers
  • Background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or similar fast‑paced operational environments
  • Strong experience with ERP, WMS, or inventory systems (Cin7 Core or comparable platforms)
  • Advanced Excel capability with proven ability to build models, dashboards, and reporting tools from scratch
  • Experience in demand planning, stock control, or production scheduling
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and end‑to‑end supply chain processes
  • Comfortable operating in a scaling business where structure is still being developed

What we would like to see (bonus)

  • Experience managing complex, long‑lead international supply chains
  • Exposure to Latin American sourcing or comparable import markets
  • Previous ERP implementation or systems optimisation experience
  • Track record of cost saving, process improvement, or operational efficiency projects
  • Experience in founder‑led, high‑growth environments
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments where production planning is tightly linked to supply availability
