Job Description Mechatronics & Systems Engineering (Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Simulation Systems Engineer)
Security clearance Due to the nature of the work, we need to be a British or Dual British ciitizen able to obtain a security clearance Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for complex engineering systems, real-time simulation and problem solving?
We're looking for a talented Simulation Systems Engineer to join an innovative engineering team responsible for maintaining and developing one of the UK's most advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments.
Working at the forefront of engineering, you'll help deliver sophisticated simulation capability that enables the testing of complex systems in a safe, controlled environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining mechanical, electrical and control system knowledge with practical fault finding and continuous improvement.
- What you'll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation facilities
- Performing planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault diagnosis
- Working on multi-axis hydraulic motion systems and precision positioning equipment
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control system issues
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
- Supporting upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Ensuring simulation systems remain reliable, accurate and available for critical engineering programmes
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- We’re looking for experience in some of the following
- Mechatronics, Mechanical, Systems or Electronic Engineering
- Hydraulic systems
- Control systems and automation
- Electro-mechanical equipment
- Mechanical assembly and workshop practices
- Reading mechanical and electrical drawings
- CAD experience, ideally CREO although other packages will be considered
- Fault finding and maintenance of complex engineering equipment
- Preventative and corrective maintenance
- Engineering management or maintenance information systems
