A well-established and growing fire & security specialist is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Commissioning Engineer to join its expanding technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer seeking long-term career progression within a respected business operating across the South East and surrounding counties.

The role would suit an engineer with strong commissioning experience who is confident working independently on customer sites, delivering high standards of service, and ensuring systems are compliant with current industry regulations.

The Role

  • Commission fire alarm systems from specifications, drawings, and project requirements
  • Test, inspect, and hand over completed systems to required standards
  • Complete all certification and commissioning documentation accurately
  • Carry out fault finding, corrective maintenance, servicing, and small installations when required
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and industry regulations
  • Liaise professionally with customers, surveyors, and internal teams on-site
  • Support emergency call out cover as part of the engineer rota

About the Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within fire alarm engineering / commissioning
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems and regulations
  • Confident reading drawings and system specifications
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Professional and customer-focused approach
  • Ideally based within commuting distance of Stevenage

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Standard start time from 8:30am
