Role Summary

The role reports to the Technical Director and provides engineering design and technical support for the region, managing all external consultants.

It oversees the production of drawings for site developments and ensures alignment with the Management Team’s internal brief.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Design Engineers, Setting Out Engineers, Adoptions Engineers and Trainee Engineers, providing mentoring, training and professional development.
  • Manage projects from site identification or planning approval through to site commencement, procuring technical packages and coordinating timely delivery of design information.
  • Oversee site evaluations and provide cost‑effective, technically viable solutions to keep projects on programme and within budget.
  • Coordinate consultants and technical teams to deliver high‑quality information and services that support Construction, Sales and Business Development objectives.
  • Plan, review and issue technical and production information in line with agreed programmes, company standards and project milestones.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, design and technical compliance across all schemes, protecting and enhancing the company's reputation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and promote a strong safety culture throughout the team.
  • Allocate, monitor and review team workloads, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Exceptional communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Civil design, infrastructure, groundworks or general construction background.
  • Valid Managers CSCS Card is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
