Artheon is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Estimator to join our Program and Construction Management (PMCM) team in New York City.

This role is ideal for professionals with 5+ years of experience in civil construction, who are ready to take on greater responsibility and contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects throughout the NY/NJ area.

You’ll play a key role in supporting and leading the development of detailed and conceptual construction estimates for transformational public sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates based on design documents, specifications, and field conditions.
  • Lead scope take-offs and apply construction methods and sequencing to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Analyze contractor proposals, bid packages, and change orders to support negotiations and validate costs.
  • Provide support in the development of task order pricing and procurement documents.
  • Conduct cost research and trend analysis on labor, materials, and equipment for benchmarking.
  • Evaluate and compare independent cost estimates to contractor bids, identifying and explaining key variances.
  • Contribute to claims analysis and pricing for change management processes.
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project planning and execution.
  • Maintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement of estimating tools and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in estimating within the civil construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of local construction labor and material markets in NY/NJ.
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
  • Familiarity with construction means, methods, and project sequencing.
  • Advanced skills in estimating software (e. g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, Timberline, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience working on public sector infrastructure projects.
