About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Machine Operators / Production & Packaging Operatives to join Siva Group , a busy and well-established packaging manufacturing operation.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, packing, machine operation, slitting, rewinding or converting .The role is initially offered on a 6-month contract , with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidates . Full training will be provided, with opportunities for development and career progression.Please note: this position involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night shift pattern. Candidates must be comfortable working both day and night shifts.

The Role
Working within a busy packaging manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for operating production and slitting machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate KAMPF, COMEXI and PROSLIT slitters to maximum efficiency
- Prepare master reels on the slitter unwind
- Set slitting knives as required
- Input the required final meterage onto the machine counter
- Arrange for cores to be cut for the slitter
- Follow all instructions detailed on the job bag, including:
- Required metres
- Correct unwind code
- Correct finished width
- Other job-specific requirements
- Keep reel joins to a minimum, with no more than one join per reel
- Ensure webs are correctly joined and reels are appropriately flagged
- Weigh finished reels using the designated scales
- Generate reel and pallet labels
- Stack weighed reels onto pallets according to job bag instructions
- Wrap palletised products with stretch wrap as required
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and free from waste
- Bale production scrap as required
- Report machine defects or faults promptly to the Team Leader or Manager
- Complete company inspection and quality records for every order produced on the slitter
- Complete daily cleaning schedules once cleaning has been carried out
- Follow 5S standards at all times
- Ensure trim bags are changed every shift
- Prepare job film and place it in the designated area
- Only run jobs once they have been signed off by the Team Leader or Manager
- Check products throughout the entire production process, including labels
- Take responsibility for the quality of products coming off your production line
- Operate the Koch robotic system
- Follow all company terms and conditions of employment
- Comply with all company policies and procedures relevant to your role
- Carry out any other reasonable duties or instructions issued by the Slitting Team Leader or Manager

- However, candidates with general production, packing or manufacturing experience who are reliable, safety-conscious and willing to learn will also be considered.
