Aureos are looking for an experienced Project Manager to work within the rail division from the office in Sheffield. The project manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, leading and motivating the project team to ensure the requirements of the project are achieved, including safety, programme, quality and budget.

Job Content

  • Promoting collaborative and safety culture with the project team(s).
  • Identifying project goals, needs, and scope.
  • Planning, monitoring, and documenting tasks throughout a project.
  • Ensuring all tasks and deliverables are delivered on-time.
  • Managing all resources necessary for project execution.
  • Fostering effective communication with stakeholders concerning project status.
  • Foreseeing and strategically eliminating blockers and potential risks.
  • Documenting each step of the process using various project management tools.
  • Ensuring top-quality results and success for a project.

Secondary tasks and duties:

  • Plan and chair progress meetings with the team. Distribute meeting minutes and actions as necessary.
  • Prepare a monthly report to the Senior Project Manager / Programme Director in advance of the Project Management Review (PMR) meetings.
  • On completion of the project, the project manager is responsible for producing a case-study which will be issued to the Pre-Contracts team, so that it can be used to support work-winning activities.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

  • Essential: APM or Prince2
  • Desirable: Relevant Engineering, Construction Management Degree qualified or equivalent.

Knowledge

  • Essential: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in rail projects.
  • Desirable: Member of the Project Management Institute.

Skills and Abilities

  • Essential: Experience using Microsoft Office programmes including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Power Point & Microsoft Project.
