We are currently looking for a Technician to join our Advanced Training Center (ATC). The ATC Technician is responsible for assisting in the operations at the Rhoads Industries Advanced Training Center supporting the manager and instructors in training operations to include welding coupon processing, maintaining inventory, general maintenance of equipment and facilities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinates all aspects of welding coupon processing at the direction of the ATC Manager and instructors to include cutting and preparing welding coupons for bend testing per instruction.
- Maintains and guarantees equipment is kept in good working order and informs ATC manager of any breakdowns or safety concerns.
- Conducts preventative maintenance of equipment in coupon cutting lab.
- Maintains welding consumable inventory reporting to the ATC manager of items to be replenished.
- Assists with supporting new welders, apprentice program and upskilling cohorts at the direction of the ATC Manager.
- Performs general maintenance of equipment at the ATC.
- Helps/ performs ATC upgrades directed by the ATC manager.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Your Background
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Welding experience and thermal cutting proficiency are required.
- Demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repair of shop equipment.
- Ability to provide and utilize personal tools necessary to perform general shop equipment maintenance.
- Strong basic math, measurement, and mechanical aptitude skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work an on-site schedule of five 8-hour shifts per week, with flexibility to work extended shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
- Strong time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a fast‑paced, growing organization.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally and effectively.
The Work Environment at Rhoads
The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required. This position requires standing for long periods of time, being able to lift 25 lbs. and climb ladders.
