Job DescriptionV06220 – Senior Structures EngineerBAE Systems Warton, Samlesbury, Brough or Prestwick6 positions12 monthsBPSS with full SC, subject to ITARInside IR35Job description: To ensure we support our growing world-wide fast jet development we need to increase the size of our StructuralAnalysis team.As a Senior Structures Engineer within that team you will need to have a thorough knowledge Aircraft StructuralAnalysis covering metallics and composites using a range of analysis techniques from traditional hand calculations through to computational techniques such as Finite Element Analysis.Engineering knowledge sufficient to supervise junior/early career engineers.Core DutiesTypical duties include (but are not limited to):Typically, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Structural sizing and analysis
• Finite Element AnalysisDependent upon your specialist experience and knowledge, you will be responsible for activities such as:
• Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and to your team members.
• Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues to build up the team's knowledge, skill andexperience across the Structures discipline.
• Ensuring effective interactions between team mates, suppliers, customers and others, to develop efficientand effective working practices, and resolving issues as they arise to maintain this effectiveness.
• Carrying out analysis of structure using finite element analysis, traditional hand-calculations and calculationsusing a variety of software applications, to demonstrate that the structural design meets relevantcertification and project requirements.
• Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
