We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Sheffield.

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects, working collaboratively with our teams to deliver high-quality building solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse refurbishment and building safety projects, typically ranging from £5m to £15m, where your expertise will help maximise project value whilst supporting excellent client relationships.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Managing commercial resources and maximising project margins through careful contract placement and control
  • Tendering, evaluating, and appointing subcontractors, consultants, and placing orders for materials and plant
  • Identifying, negotiating and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers
  • Measuring, valuing, and agreeing work progress to support invoicing and payment processes
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain

What are we looking for?

  • You have clear communication skills and experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and supply chain partners
  • You hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience in a similar role
  • You're organised, able to prioritise effectively, and comfortable working to deadlines
  • You're flexible, able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • You're confident using IT packages including Microsoft Office and are willing to embrace ongoing training and development
