We are currently partnering with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a flagship mixed‑use RC frame development in London. This is a key commercial role on a high‑profile scheme, offering the opportunity to be involved from early stages through to completion, working within a well‑established project team on a complex, multi‑phase development.
Location:
- Initially based in the South East London office
- Moving into a split role between office and East London site as the project progresses
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a lead role in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring financial performance is maintained while supporting successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing project costs from pre‑construction through to final account
- Procurement of subcontract packages, with a focus on best value and risk management
- Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Administration of subcontractor accounts, valuations, and variations
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with design, planning, and site teams to ensure cost‑effective delivery
- Supporting contract administration in line with project requirements
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong commercial relationships
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Strong track record delivering RC frame projects, ideally within mixed‑use or residential sectors
- Experience managing large‑scale London developments
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT)
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple packages and stakeholders effectively
- Degree‑qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field
