Responsibilities
- Help shape the UK's energy future.
- Support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes.
- Work within the Logistics & Services Section.
- Adhere to the Company's GMCEs, BMS and other governance, including SZC systems, processes, and governance.
- Order information and systematically check data.
- Maximise digital opportunities.
- Prepare Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyse tender documents.
- Critically appraise, estimate, and negotiate with 3rd parties.
- Plan reviews of complex contract programmes such as Time-Location.
- Assist with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
- Monitor subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately.
- Analyse commercial progress and report to senior project staff.
- Manage commercial aspects with customers and stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
- Undertake constructability analyses using construction programmes.
- Prepare procurement programme and help develop the strategy.
- Analyse rates & prices, agreement of variations and/or compensation events as required.
- Prepare, submit and negotiate claims when required.
- Prepare internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
- Maintain own Personal Development Plan.
- Manage HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc).
- Support the development of others including professional mentoring.
- Produce plans for the team to achieve goals or aspirations.
- Support recruitment of lower grades.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).
Desirable Skills
- Communication, teamwork, leadership, achievement focus, business and customer awareness.
- Proven track record in managing and leading large teams.
- Demonstrable experience of innovation in all fields (Health and Safety, Operational Delivery etc).
- Experience in mentoring and providing stretch and challenge for team members.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including completion of formal qualification (e.g., ILM).
- Wide-ranging independent judgement evident.
- Achieved professional accreditation and undertakes extra-curricular activities to advance the profession (e.g., RICS, CMI).
