Your new company
You’ll be joining a Tier 1 contractor operating within the highways sector. They deliver major civils projects nationwide with stable project pipelines and excellent opportunities for long-term progression. Due to an increase in workload and new schemes commencing, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join on a long-term temporary basis.
Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support highways projects across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. You will work predominantly on-site (4 days per week) and may have the opportunity to move across different live projects as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing large subcontract packages
- Assisting with forecasting
- Carrying out take-offs
- Managing compensation events under NEC contracts
- Ensuring commercial compliance throughout the full project lifecycle
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience working for a Tier 1 contractor
- Strong Quantity Surveying background within highways
- Experience primarily focused on large subcontract package management
- Ability to assist with forecasting
- Ability to undertake accurate take-offs
- Clear and practical understanding of compensation event management
- Solid working knowledge of NEC3/4
- Comfortable working 4 days per week on site
