About the Company
The client is a well‑established turnkey Principal Contractor with a turnover of c£80m. This has been achieved by working collaboratively with our clients to understand their needs and become an extension of their business, expanding service offerings and geography to meet the expectations required.
Role Overview
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will join their Commercial Team in London, Canary Wharf, working on Commercial, Data Centre, and Retail Refurbishment & Upgrades projects under JCT Contracts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with designers, architects, estimating department, client account leads, operational teams, sub‑contractors, manufacturers, specialist suppliers, client agents, commissioning teams and high‑profile customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage all commercial aspects from conception, through the design stages, ensuring each project is successfully handed over and closed out to the highest standards.
- Draft and submit contractual documentation (Notice of Delay, Extension of Time).
- Maintain professional, client‑facing demeanor with a keen focus on customer care.
- Remain calm and solve problems under pressure.
- Make sound decisions assessing impact on multiple entities, both up and downstream.
- Prioritise tasks while meeting strict deadlines across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Experience managing multi‑million‑pound projects from conception to final account agreement.
- Strong understanding of M&E installations.
- Good knowledge of standard‑form contracts, particularly JCT.
- Knowledge of RIBA stages and requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident, effective communicator.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A UK Driving Licence.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
