We are working with a prestigious, long-standing client in the global banking sector, a recognised leader in quantitative finance and structured investment products. As part of a strategic multi-year programme, they are building and scaling a next-generation investment platform designed to support complex, data-driven financial strategies at institutional scale. This is a senior individual contributor role, sitting at the intersection of technology delivery and financial markets.
You will be responsible for making its delivery coherent, evidenced and continuous, coordinating across a broad set of engineering, quant and business stakeholders in a large matrix organisation.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Head of the Investment Platform, you will work closely with platform engineering teams, quantitative developers, IT infrastructure and a range of business users and senior sponsors.
- Own end-to-end delivery coherence across multiple interdependent engineering teams.
- Identify, track and resolve cross-team dependencies before they become blockers.
- Establish and enforce evidence-based delivery cycles — working integrations, demonstrated interfaces, measurable performance benchmarks.
- Define and oversee testing strategies; ensure appropriate environments are available and maintained.
- Surface risks, unknowns and integration challenges early and track them systematically.
- Translate technical complexity into clear, accurate narratives for senior business stakeholders.
- Manage expectations proactively — communicating constraints, trade-offs and realistic delivery horizons.
- Challenge assumptions, validate claims and identify inefficiencies across the programme.
- Support resourcing and prioritisation decisions in collaboration with team leads.
Proven experience delivering complex technology programmes in investment banking or quantitative finance environments.
- Direct exposure to QIS (Quantitative Investment Strategies) or systematic investment platforms; understanding how strategies are researched, backtested and industrialised.
- Hands-on experience coordinating with Quant researchers and Quant developers.
- Technical fluency across software architecture, infrastructure and integration.
- Familiarity with quant technology ecosystems (Python, C++, distributed data systems, market data infrastructure).
- Background in structured products, equity derivatives or passive/systematic investment platforms is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable operating without direct line authority across Quant, Tech, IT and Business teams in large matrix organisations.
- Direct and confident communicator — you adapt your message to your audience without losing accuracy.
