Dalkia Engineering is a leading provider of M&E engineering solutions across the UK, delivering complex projects within healthcare, nuclear, defence, government, leisure, industrial and infrastructure sectors. We are now seeking an experienced Senior M&E Planner to join our growing Engineering function. This is a pivotal role responsible for developing, managing, and improving project controls and planning activities across a portfolio of building services and construction projects.

As a Senior Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring our projects are planned, controlled, and delivered effectively. You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure programmes are accurate, robust, and aligned with contractual and operational requirements. You will support the South Regional Engineering Services team while helping to shape a high‑performance culture. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll coach, influence, and guide project leaders through an exciting period of business growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing and coordinating Building Services programmes across both site and office environments.
  • Integrating project programmes with external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Developing and executing reporting against contract baselines, including monthly progress updates.
  • Liaising with clients and external partners to create and manage project controls systems.
  • Supporting work‑winning activities by interpreting tender information and driving the planning element of bid submissions.
  • Coaching and guiding other Planners as part of capability development.
  • Demonstrating changes against agreed baselines and presenting clear programme data.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Project Controls Management Plan and all contract requirements.
  • Calculating and reporting actual construction progress, producing weekly reports, and updating construction S‑curves.
  • Identifying delays, risks, and early warnings—offering clear recommendations for mitigation.
  • Preparing recovery plans where necessary to realign the programme.
  • Leading strategic planning, engaging stakeholders, and implementing project controls.
  • Conducting critical path analysis and calculating performance using Earned Value Management.
  • Holding weekly planning meetings to ensure all teams have up‑to‑date information.
  • Reviewing subcontractor manpower and performance.

What We’re Looking For:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • MEP planning background; construction planning experience is essential.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing and how activities impact each other.
  • Knowledge of contract forms such as NEC and JCT.
  • 5–10 years working in planning roles within construction or engineering.

Technical Skills:

  • Asta Powerproject (Elecosoft) expertise — essential.
  • Primavera P6 experience.
  • Power BI knowledge beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to design professional reports and presentations.
  • Confident presenting data and engaging stakeholders with clarity.
