Electrical Design Engineer – Power Infrastructure

Location: North of England / Hybrid options available

Salary / Rate: Competitive (DOE)

Type: Permanent

We are currently working with a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major power projects across the UK and are looking to speak with experienced Electrical Design Engineers with a background in HV power systems. This role will involve supporting the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects across distribution and transmission networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing electrical designs for HV infrastructure projects (up to 132kV)
  • Supporting the design of substations, cable systems and associated electrical equipment
  • Preparing design drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Liaising with project delivery teams to ensure designs meet operational and safety requirements
  • Supporting design reviews and engineering approvals
  • Ensuring designs comply with DNO standards and industry regulations

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working on HV electrical design projects
  • Knowledge of power systems, substations or network infrastructure
  • Experience working with DNO standards (SPEN, Grid, etc. desirable)
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and engineering best practice

Desirable Experience

  • Experience designing projects up to 132kV
  • Background in power infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
