An established and growing building services engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its team in London. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high‑quality, innovative engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.

The Role

  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of electrical design solutions across multiple sectors, ensuring high technical standards and effective coordination within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support the development of junior engineers while working closely with clients and project stakeholders to deliver efficient, compliant, and forward-thinking designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design across a range of projects and sectors.
  • Produce detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of design information at all project stages.
  • Coordinate with internal and external CAD/Revit teams.
  • Develop and present technical solutions aligned to client briefs.
  • Monitor project progress, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Identify and manage risks, technical challenges, and client feedback.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers, promoting best practice and engineering standards.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and wider design teams, presenting design strategies clearly to stakeholders.
  • Build strong professional relationships and support future business development through project engagement.
  • Demonstrate strong capability in electrical design calculations and coordinated outputs.
  • Show experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Show knowledge of relevant industry standards and design practices.
  • Proficiency with design and modelling tools such as CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, IES/Amtech/Dialux/Relux (or similar).
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.

About You

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Typically 5+ years’ experience within a building services consultancy.
  • Working towards or holding professional accreditation (e.g., CIBSE, IET).
  • Experience across a variety of sectors and project types.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Able to manage workload across multiple projects.
  • Comfortable working both independently and within teams.
