The predicted salary is between 85000 - 95000 £ per year.

Circa £90k, salary depending on skills and experience. Permanent role based in Peterborough or Norwich with hybrid working. Full time with flexibility for part-time. 30 days annual leave, car allowance, private healthcare, bonus and double match pension up to 6–7% (Anglian Water doubles your contributions). Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, with the option to work from home, project offices and from an Anglian Water office. Primary location: Thorpewood, Peterborough or Norwich Hub. Travel to construction site locations around the region may be required.

Shape the Future of Infrastructure Delivery — Join Us as a Senior ECC Project Manager. Take the lead on multiple projects within our capital investment programme and influence the delivery of contract and commercial excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and drive successful management of NEC3 PSC & ECC contracts across AMP8 Alliance Agreements.
  • Report to the Head of Contract Management and own contract management and administration across Tier 1 supply chain partners.
  • Shape and deliver the Contract Management and Assurance Strategy; ensure commercial outcomes are optimised and programmes are delivered efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Lead and develop a team of ECC Project Managers; act as a key escalation point; engage with stakeholders across the business and beyond.
  • Champion best practice and drive continual improvement in how we manage the capital investment programme.
  • Lead administration of NEC contracts across Tier 1 Alliances; manage a large investment portfolio and ensure contract compliance and risk management.
  • Supervise and support the ECC Project Management team; address escalations and remove delivery barriers.
  • Ensure robust assurance processes, maintain accurate financial records, oversee procurement strategies and contract drafting.
  • Promote collaboration and informed decision-making within governance structures and stakeholder networks.
  • Monitor and report portfolio performance, compliance, and risk at programme level; lead governance activities and drive improvements from insights and feedback.
  • Support alignment of contract and commercial strategies with Alliances’ broader goals; lead strategic initiatives and ensure effective commercial training and assurance frameworks.
  • Represent senior leadership in key forums; support development of commercial training and assurance frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in construction, engineering, or a science-related discipline.
  • NEC3 or NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation; extensive knowledge of NEC contracts, especially in construction and utilities.
  • Strong background in commercial and contract management; proven experience managing large-scale construction contracts with governance and assurance.
  • Skilled in dispute resolution and mediation; proficient in Office 365 and modern digital tools.
  • Leadership and team-management experience; ability to mentor, motivate, and manage individuals and teams.
  • Strong decision-making ability and experience in business-critical roles; confident in challenging issues and strategic decisions.
  • Clear, concise communication; strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; ability to collaborate across teams to achieve shared goals; proven ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships.
  • Strategic and commercial thinking; big-picture perspective; risk awareness; proactive in driving improvements and efficiency; able to manage competing priorities within governance structures.
