Role Description
This full-time, on-site Electrician role is based in Selkirk, NY. The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring and connecting circuits, inspecting systems to identify hazards or defects, and performing routine maintenance. The role also involves diagnosing electrical issues, recommending solutions, and completing repairs in accordance with local codes and safety standards. The Electrician collaborates with team members, interacts with clients on-site, and maintains accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of electricity and practical electrical work skills for safe and effective installation and service.
- Experience with maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues to identify root causes and implement reliable solutions.
- Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts related to circuits, loads, and system design.
- Relevant electrician license or certification in accordance with New York state and local regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to OSHA and NEC standards and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Selkirk, NY area.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
