Transport Planner

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a established Logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport schedules to ensure the timely delivery and collection of goods.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure finished goods are available in line with loading and dispatch schedules.
• Work closely with freight forwarders to arrange shipping, haulage, and associated logistics activities.
• Prepare, manage, and maintain accurate transport and shipping documentation within required timescales.
• Oversee the loading, dispatch, and delivery processes to ensure operational efficiency.
• Allocate vehicles, drivers, and routes to maximise service levels and operational performance.
• Investigate and resolve transport-related issues promptly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, transport regulations, and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Contribute positively to team objectives and support wider business operations as required.
• Promote the highest standards of customer and supplier care.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a transport planning, logistics, or similar operational role.
• Strong knowledge of HGV regulations, road transport legislation, and compliance requirements.
• Experience using transport management systems; knowledge of Webfleet would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
