Freelance Site Manager – Facade Remediation

Location: Salford (M3 Area)

Contract: Freelance / Self-Employed

Duration: 18 Months – 2 Years

Rate: £280–£320 per day (DOE)

An established principal contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a major long-term facade remediation project in the Salford area. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a substantial contract on a high-profile residential remediation scheme, offering continuity of work for up to two years. Due to the long-term nature of the project, applicants must be locally based or within a reasonable commuting distance and able to commit for the full project duration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operations
  • Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and specialist facade trades
  • Ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate site records
  • Managing health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance
  • Ensuring works comply with current fire safety regulations, remediation requirements, and relevant building safety legislation
  • Liaising with project management teams, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress meetings
  • Driving programme delivery while maintaining high standards of workmanship

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering facade remediation, recladding, external envelope, or facade refurbishment projects
  • Strong understanding of fire remediation works, passive fire protection, and current Building Safety and Fire Safety regulations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of quality assurance processes and compliance requirements within occupied residential environments
  • Strong IT skills with experience using construction management and reporting platforms such as Field View, Viewpoint, Trimble, or similar digital site management applications
  • Ability to produce and manage digital quality, safety, and progress records
  • Valid and in-date: SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders effectively
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be able to provide recent and relevant project references
