We're looking for a Major Projects Electrical Lead to join our Building Services Design team based in Salford / Speke. Kier Design are a top-25 engineering consultancy, delivering a wide range of services across all sectors of the built environment, providing construction-focused, innovative and sustainable solutions.

Location: Salford / Speke

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired.

What will you be responsible for?

As Major Projects Electrical Lead, you'll be working within the Building Services team, overseeing and coordinating the electrical design for large, complex construction projects, acting as the central point for technical excellence, team leadership, client liaison, and ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading on the management of all works delivered through the Electrical team, managing all aspects of building services engineering.
  • Working together with the Major Projects Mechanical Lead to ensure coordinated solutions for all allocated works, which include all major projects new builds.
  • Effectively managing team utilisation levels, identifying and implementing necessary steps in balancing team capabilities and resource levels with available workload.
  • Setting, monitoring and maintaining standards for quality of product delivery, aligning all aspects of delivery to standard industry practices.
  • Providing high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering.
  • Participating in project design meetings, establishing solutions, agreeing concepts, working closely with colleagues and other design team members.

This role of Major Projects Electrical Lead is great for you if:

  • You are a Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering plus significant knowledge of the road tunnel industry.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts into more readily understood information suitable for a wider business audience.
  • You have experience in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
  • You can pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements.
