Infrastructure (3rd Line) Engineer

Reporting to the ITSM Service Delivery Manager

Based in: Wilton

Position overview: To provide advanced Information Technology systems engineering support both hardware and software to SE UK.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all LAN/WAN specification/installs/support to all Sembcorp sites in the UK.
  • Responsible for server infrastructure specification/installs/support to all Sembcorp sites in the UK.
  • Specify and deliver Information Technology hardware/software solutions to meet the needs of the user and SCU UK business strategy.
  • Provide deep technical assistance, knowledge, and user support in all aspects of IT to ensure the SCU UK business gets maximum benefit from IT systems.
  • Provide deep technical support to Server/Desktop, Local/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure and all business applications.
  • Your time will mainly be spent on management of project work but will include 3rd level repair and advice of IT tickets where appropriate.
  • Develop and implement standard Server/Desktop environments, which suit the hardware specification, to give a reliable platform and deliver the results the business requires.
  • Give technical advice, configure, and install appropriate hardware/software to the user’s desktop in a professional manner and appropriate timescales, without the need for multiple visits, in order to meet business needs.
  • Provide advanced hardware/software configuration, fault finding and problem resolution.
  • Provide specialist assistance, knowledge, and support in all aspects of Information Technology use to the Helpdesk and all end users.
  • Provide technical advice in the purchase of appropriate hardware/software to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Identify areas of cost savings.
  • Investigate and trial new technological advances and suggest possible implementation of such technology in order to advance the business.
  • Provide user training, hints and tips and other user assistance as required on SCU UK’s systems and applications.
  • Be available to support the business during ‘out of core hour’ working time. The role requires the jobholder to be available on call out hours. This will be managed by the business using a formalised rota.
  • Support provided will predominately be based on the Wilton site however there will be a requirement to provide support to other UK sites as and when required or on a regular basis.
  • Frequent travel to other Sembcorp Energy UK’s sites (due to the locations, sites only accessible via car).

  • Door locking maintainer/installation engineer.
  • Grafana Dashboard User.
  • Citrix application installer/Admin.
  • JAMF/Miradore MDM maintainer/Admin.
  • Unify dashboard maintainer and Admin.
  • Server 2003-2022 installer and Admin.
  • Printer installation and Advanced maintenance engineer.
  • Patching of IT assets.
  • Ring Central and other telephony management.
  • SAP use on raising PR’s.
  • Stock management and rotation for warranty purposes.
