A highly secure government programme is looking for a Lead Network Engineer with strong expertise in VMware NSX to join a specialist networking team. This is a key technical role where you'll act as the subject matter expert for NSX, leading the design, implementation, and optimisation of network architectures within hyperconverged infrastructure environments. You'll be working with cutting‑edge technologies to solve complex challenges in a secure setting. Due to the nature of the work, SC or DV clearance is required (DV eligible as a minimum).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and configuration of NSX‑T components
- Design and implement logical networking, distributed firewalling, load balancing, and VPN services
- Drive network virtualisation and micro‑segmentation strategies
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across network services
- Design and maintain access management solutions
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and automation teams
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- VMware NSX‑T
- VMware AVI Load Balancers
- Cisco secure networking
- Experience working within hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable network architectures
- Strong understanding of and tiered access models
- Experience in highly automated environments
Desirable Experience
- SD‑WAN
- Network monitoring and management tools
- Security best practices and secure design principles
