Belcan is recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our client's defence programme based in Berkshire. This role offers the chance to work on one of the UK's most complex and technically demanding infrastructure projects in the nuclear industry. As Commissioning Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering the safe and successful commissioning of specialist process equipment, building services and control systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Manager who thrives in regulated environments and enjoys leading teams through challenging commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing advice on safety requirements for all commissioning activities
- Managing, overseeing and delivering commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure environment
- Ensuring compliance with client commissioning procedures and ONR Licence Condition 21 (Commissioning)
- Planning and coordinating commissioning tests with suppliers and stakeholders
- Integrating commissioning prerequisites and test requirements into the project programme
- Supporting the development of construction schedules to enable phased release of works
- Witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Managing test failure resolution and corrective actions
- Leading commissioning stakeholder engagement and chairing commissioning reviews
About You
- Substantial experience commissioning large, complex facilities
- Proven experience leading commissioning teams to successful outcomes
- Background in defence, nuclear or similarly regulated technical environments
- Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies and best practice
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Qualifications & Security Requirements
- Degree-educated or equivalent professional experience
- Due to the requirements of this role, applicants must be eligible for SC or DV security clearance.
