Bridgestone Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor, delivering projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of groundwork packages. This role is open to both experienced Groundworks QSs and Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyors seeking long-term development within a specialist contractor environment.
The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with site and commercial teams, and support the full commercial lifecycle of groundworks projects, from pre-start through to final account.
Key Duties- Commercial management of groundworks packages
- Measurement, valuations and cost control on site
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations
- Managing variations and change control
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Assisting with monthly CVRs and commercial reporting
- Supporting final accounts and project close-out
- Working closely with site managers, engineers and clients
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (or working towards)
- Understanding of construction or groundworks environments
- Strong numeracy, organisation and commercial awareness
- Confident communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
