Flagship projects include renewable with transmission circuits from Morocco to Europe. We have a portfolio of other projects in development worldwide. The rapid fall in solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) prices over recent years is creating niche project opportunities for Xlinks including transformational renewables and interconnection projects to support de-carbonization. The Transmission team and Development focus
The Transmission team encompasses both AC and DC transmission systems, with a focus on the technical developments in HVDC allowing for ultra long and reliable transmission back-bone networks of increasing size and scale especially subsea.
In Development we focus on onshore route and system engineering of cables and overhead lines. This includes technical and environmental analysis, definition of engineering specifications and concept engineering to ensure the route is viable, technically deliverable and the system can meet required performance criteria. The workload is varied and will generally comprise working with a matrix of specialist disciplines and supporting functions.
The external stakeholders we engage with range from supporting contractors, to local and statutory bodies and regulators, to the public impacted by our projects. Projects at our mega-scale always create demand for general engineering support– so we are quick to adapt, going where the workloads require and doing what needs to be done. Our projects are often niche and will require innovative thinking, leadership and drive.
Requirements
We are seeking general technical experience in both onshore and offshore Transmission – cables, overhead lines, HVDC converters, civil works, networks design and operating systems. We are looking for past experience on large Transmission projects in development, construction or operations phases of projects.
We want team-players who are flexible, resilient and open-minded. People who can lead contractors, deliver with minimal supervision and adapt to and support team members across the business. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong personal characteristics including self-motivation, teamwork and delivery of significant works within multi-disciplinary and international teams.
