The University of Aberdeen is undertaking a major transformation programme to modernise its Student Management System (SMS), with the goal of simplifying processes, adopting modern technologies, and enhancing the student experience. To support this multi-year initiative, the university is recruiting a Programme Manager and a Business Systems Analyst to help deliver a comprehensive new system. These roles are initially fixed-term until mid-October 2027, with the intention to extend subject to approval.
Role details
- Salary: £47,389 - £56,535
- Annual Leave: 41 Days
- Pension: Generous USS Pension Scheme
- Location: Scotland (With flexible hybrid working available)
- Flexible Working: Options such as 9 day Fortnight and other Flexible hours available (subject to line management approval)
Responsibilities / Key requirements
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Qualifications/experience in PRINCE2 and ITIL Foundation
- Significant experience managing projects and programmes using formal methodologies
- Strong planning, dependency management, and delivery skills
- Experience using project tools including Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business change
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation and people-management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable experience
- Programme management qualifications such as MSP
- Higher Education sector experience
- Knowledge of student management systems
- Experience with procurement, vendor management and contract lifecycle management
