This is an exciting new role within a growing and forward‑thinking construction and engineering business. As Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in establishing and leading procurement strategy across multiple projects, ensuring cost efficiency, programme compliance, and strong supply chain relationships. You will have the opportunity to shape procurement processes from the ground up, working closely with commercial, operational, and project delivery teams to support the successful delivery of projects.
The Procurement Manager will take full ownership of the procurement function across the business, ensuring materials, plant, and subcontract packages are sourced effectively and in line with project requirements. This is a strategic and hands‑on role, suited to someone who can operate both at a high level and within live project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages across multiple projects
- Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and framework agreements to achieve best value
- Work closely with Commercial and Project teams to ensure procurement schedules align with programme requirements
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive value engineering initiatives
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual and quality standards
- Manage procurement risk, including supply chain disruption and cost fluctuations
- Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with company policies and contractual obligations
- Support pre‑construction activities including tendering and budget development
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer within construction or engineering
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management within civils, build, or modular construction
- Experience procuring subcontract packages and major materials
- Excellent negotiation and commercial skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Proactive, solutions‑driven, and commercially aware
- Experience working within a fast‑paced project environment
