Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of transport assessments, travel plans, and transport strategies for a wide range of development projects.
- Provide technical leadership on complex transport planning matters, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for development-related transport planning projects.
- Oversee and contribute to junction capacity assessments and modelling using software such as Junctions 10 (PICADY/ARCADY), LinSig, and TRICS.
- Take responsibility for project management, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Lead engagement with local authorities, stakeholders, and developers, supporting planning applications and transport strategies.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and career support.
- Contribute to business development, including tender preparation and identifying new opportunities.
- Support public inquiries, appeals, and expert witness work when required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing projects and teams, with the ability to lead on technical delivery.
- Strong understanding of UK transport planning policies, development control processes, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in transport modelling software, including Junctions 10, LinSig, and TRICS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, presenting to clients, and attending public consultations.
